Sustainable Forestry Policy

G&G Forest Products, LLC

G&G Forest Products is committed to implementing and achieving the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) Standard (2010-2014 Edition) as part of its wood procurement program to broaden the practice of sustainable forestry.

G&G Forest Products promotes scientifically, environmentally, socially and economically sustainable forestry practices to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations. This is accomplished by promoting a land stewardship ethic that integrates reforestation, growing, and harvesting of trees for useful products with the conservation of soil, air and water quality, biological diversity, wildlife and aquatic habitat, recreation and aesthetics.

G&G Forestry Products’ SFI Policy is predicated on promoting the Principles of Sustainable Forest Management including: practicing sustainable forestry, employing responsible practices, regenerating the forest and maintaining productive capacity, protecting and maintaining long term forest and soil productivity, protecting water resources, protecting special sites and biological diversity, complying with legal requirements, managing visual impacts and providing recreational opportunities for the public, promoting sustainable forestry among landowners, supporting forestry research, training and education, promoting community involvement and transparency, and continually improving forest practices.

G&G Forest Products is committed to complying with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations and is taking appropriate steps to comply. It also promotes forest certification with family forest owners and encourages loggers to participate in certified logger training programs.

To implement and achieve the SFI Standard Principles, Objectives, Performance Measures and Indicators, G&G Forest Products has developed and adopted plans and programs to guide its log and lumber procurement activities. These programs and plans will be contained in appropriate documents within the SFI Evidence Manual and the SFI Procurement Program.

The company is committed to annually review the effectiveness of its SFI Policy, Programs, and Systems to continually improve its sustainable forestry program.
